Dosimetrist

Karen combines her love of science and technology with a desire to be part of a team that gives each patient what he needs, both physically and emotionally. She has an associate’s degree from Widener University and a bachelor of physical science degree from the University of St. Francis in Indiana. She completed Nazareth Hospital’s radiography program and the certificate program at Gwynedd-Mercy College. She completed dosimetry training at Fox Chase Cancer Center, has worked at Fox Chase and the University of Pennsylvania, and has been a clinical instructor in the dosimetry program at Thomas Jefferson University. She is board-certified in radiography, radiation therapy and medical dosimetry. “Our patients are not just numbers; they are real people with real lives. It’s not enough to just cure their cancer. Their well-being is just as important.” Keeping up with four active girls helps Karen stay abreast of technology in all realms. She is excited by the continually evolving opportunities for treating the whole person.
